kropotkin in brighton

kropotkin was inspired to write mutual aid by watching crabs in brighton aquarium in 1882.
"i was struck by the extent of mutual assistance these clumsy animals are capable of bestowing on a comrade in need. one of them had fallen upon it's back in the corner of the tank. it's comrades came to the rescue and for one hour's time i watched them endeavour to help thier fellow prisoner".
he also lived in brighton between 1912 and 1917.
